Day 8
Our next stop was Munich. The Town Hall's tower houses the carillon (Glockenspeil). Dates back to 1908 but when we visited much of the tower was covered in scaffolding. The upper part shows a joust and the lower part shows a dance of Munich called the "Schafflertanz".
Today we drove to Harburg Castle. The castle was closed but was impressive from the outside. Quick pat of the cat and we were on our way to Neuburg.
In Neuburg was just went for a walk around the town. We saw Schloss Neuburg which was constructed from 1502 to 1559. The courtyard features stone figures from the 1600's of the Bavarian Dukes and the facade which is decorated in sgraffito technique.

In the afternoon we walked to the Hofbrauhaus and had a beer. Having their photo taken with a beer was as close as the boys got to the real thing. They slurped the night away on Coke and Sprite.
The Hofbrauhaus is neither the largest or the largest Brewery but if you want to find it then just follow the hordes of tourists.
Over 10,000 litres of beer is guzzled each day in the Hofbrauhaus. Most of this is consumed on the beer garden.
We had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe and then decided that we had had enough touring for the day. On the way back to our hotel, Mark got an insect bite. John's response was, "Oh cool, now Mark's going to be Spiderman".
